In this combination it's the Stellar transmission that allows it to stand out in a crowd. I can't say enough good things about the quality of the gears. The customer service that comes with any Furitek product is worth starting a long term relationship with them.

Transmission had shavings in it from being tapped to a larger thread size. Motor works great. Transmission is not worth the money due to the poor quality.

I bought a second fcx18 to do a complete overhaul and made it brushless. This combo with metal transmission gears has exactly what I needed. I might upgrade to the Cedar motor but this Micro Komodo is definitely proven. Just be careful reinstalling the screws because I went too tight and stripped a hole. I added a good amount of Loctite and it seems to be holding up well while driving and switching gears.

I left my truck brushed because I like the two speed transmission, when furitek came out with this setup I was ready. Super smooth power, smooth shifting. It's a lot better crawler and I can still race my friends around the track. Perfect setup for this truck
