I love my Hobby Plus stuff - I have the Rock Van, I have the Arktos 6x6, but I was not ready for this collab with Furitek - I genuinely can't believe how capable this beast is right out of the box. Only thing I did was swap in a spare Reefs brass servo and this thing dominates everything I have (except my $1K-ish comp crawler). I got it on sale for $150, ready to frickin run. Amazing. Buy one, maybe swap the tires, and go have a blast at your local indoor crawler course.

This little truck is amazing. It seems to be a better crawler than some of my 1/10s. I added a few brass upgrades to add some weight. So much power and strength in a tiny truck.
Would’ve given it 4-1/2 stars but you can’t give 4-1/2 stars. Great truck but the reason I’m taking a half of a star is because the u/joint drive shafts broke within five minutes. In their defense the electronics are worth the price.
Great little rig. It really should have metal parts, twisted my drive shaft after a few runs.
If you wanna go brushless getting the katana is definitely the way. I’m actually just going to swap the powertrain into my TRX4M. I was able to get 30% off because they had a memorial day sale. Which brought the cost around $160 shipped to my house and if you get the system stand alone, you don’t even get a receiver and it’s 165 as far as the actual katana rig is two stars compared to trx4m at least an inch and a half of slop in the driveline meaning that you can push it forward or back about an inch and a half forward it engages the transmission. There’s a ton of slop in the portal axles as well as the transmission gears itself if this was my first, I would be very disappointed, but again, I’m using it to swap into my trx4m. So the katana itself mediocre the brushless system 10 out of 10.
absolutely amazing mini crawler!
This is one of the most capable RC Crawlers I have ever driven out of the box. The app for the ESC is amazing. You can literally make this thing crawl slower than a snail with it. You can also tune on the fly with it.
The tires are pretty good, fairly sticky. I did take out the inserts for more grip. Be aware, they are 1.2 inches, so there aren't that many aftermarket tires out that size yet.
Some people have mentioned the front "clip" can be hard to close to lock the body on. I found if I press on front of the Katana, it's a lot easier to lock it.
Can't beat the performance for the price, highly recommend.
