I installed this motor on a Traxxas TRX4M. It is much smoother and slower than the stock brushed motor, which would be expected.
It came with the Bluetooth lead, but honestly, it does fine just as it’s sent. The Bluetooth allows you to adjust the ESC settings via cell phone.
The motor is pretty fast on 3S with my 2spd transmission in high gear. In low gear, it’s got plenty of pulling power and can creep really slowly and it’s nice and smooth.
When it comes to a normal obstacle, it will continue over the obstacle without adding more throttle, which is another reason to make the swap to brushless.
Furitek products are always a good choice. Do they cost a little more? Yes. The smoothness and simplicity to program, along with quality of the product are what you are paying for.
I did previously have an InjoraPurple Viper and ESC in it. The Viper did start to stutter a bit after several uses, but Injora did warranty the motor and sent another. While programming isn’t difficult with Injora, it does require a laptop to program. Phone programming while crawling vs laptop and disconnecting wires to hook to laptop and program, then reconnecting… only you can decide which is best for you.
I also have another TRX4M with the Komodo motor and Lizard Pro ESC. That’s another excellent combination. The Komodo is a small outrunner style motor, the Unity is an enclosed style motor with the ESC made onto it.
If the ESC were to stop working, you might be left having to replace the entire unit, but I’d check with Furitek directly about it. The Unity will use less physical space in the vehicle, as it’s all one piece.
The Komodo and Lizard ESC are two pieces, but they are small. Still, you need a spot for the ESC. I Velcro taped mine to the top of the Injora transmission, which works well for my vehicle.
Each unit has an on and off switch, which I like. If you don’t like the switch, cut the switch off and solder the wires together, and the battery will turn the vehicle on when it’s connected.
Well I got about 14 mini 1/18 crawlers almost all furitek electronics and 2 1/10 crawlers one with furitek also and i always get good products never have any majore issues and if I do , furitek takes good care of me always good customer service.

Recently got into mini crawlers and built my first one. Motor with esc combo was a great space saver and has awesome power for has small as it is. Heli direct had it tracking the same day and it arrived perfectly. Might had one to my son's truck.
